The steam humidifier in the Dow building went nuts today. I got a high-temperature alarm from our Dow server room and went up to look.
Hmm, I'm pretty sure there's not normally steam coming out of the ceiling. There was a similar layer of fog at the top of the two computer labs under building A/C.
Despite the steam, the relative humidity in the server room stayed below 25%, and there was no condensation that I could see. The dedicated A/C unit in that room had shut down with high head pressure, but that's not uncommon, and it's reset and running again. The building manager shut down the humidifier and the blowers until the problem could be diagnosed, and we're back to normal temperatures.
